When supporting a cause is cool and well... nothing more really.

Some of the "causes" are just cool to support. The latest in this being "just 1411 left". I have heard so much about this in the last one month or so that I am really sick of it.
Don't get me wrong. I totally agree that tigers, like all other members of flora and fauna, deserve to survive as a species and we human have no right to snub off their existence. We human, have the moral obligation to make sure that none of the children of nature meet an untimely demise due to our actions. However, I just cant stand this online awareness thing that seemed to have become the new cool factor.
A quick check in google says that there are around 4,000,000 sites talking about it. Every cool person is writing a blog about it. All the "cool" and "connected" contacts in facebook are a member of one of the many groups talking about this. Nothing wrong about this really, apart from the fact that it irks me, that none of these fans, that I personally know, have donated a rupee to the cause.
And this is not the only "cause" that these contacts are fan of. They are fan of the coolest pop artists, hottest social debates, newest celeb gossips, and everything else that is cool or hot out there. In fact you can have a quick check of their supported causes and get a dump of what all are the hep things to do. And this is precisely what this blog entry is about. Or not.
It is a sincere plea to all those compulsive cool online cause supporters, please, don't support some cause, just because. Support a cause if you really support it. Do something about saving the tigers if you can, else, it is kinda in bad taste to use their misery to boost your cool factor.
